Janet Conrad: President
7th Semester

I joined the SNA board in spring of 2016 to meet nursing students from other semesters, and also because I saw opportunities in ways the SNA could build a bigger community between nursing students! I’m looking forward to doing more social and service activities with the SNA this year. I’m originally from British Columbia, Canada and transferred to Boise State with my sister in 2015. I’m not completely sure of what kind of nursing I want to do but I really like emergency medicine and pediatrics.
Leah Maatta: Vice President
7th Semester

Hi! My name is Leah Maatta and I am currently a 7th semester nursing student. I joined the SNA to positively influence the Boise State nursing community and to become more involved. I am excited for the growth of the SNA this year and look forward to service events in our local community. I currently work on the neuroscience/medical surgical floor at St. Luke’s as a nurse apprentice, but I am interested in exploring many areas of nursing. I plan to continue my education and eventually acquire my doctorate in nursing practice. I have a passion for women’s health, dermatology, and mental health. When I am not studying or working, you can find me dancing, exercising, cooking or decorating!

6th Semester

I'm a second-degree seeking student with a previous Bachelor's of Science in Health Promotion. My first career after graduating was as a Membership/Marketing Specialist at the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council where I helped plan and implement various programs and events.
In 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My diagnosis and the amazing nurses I encountered at St. Luke's Mountain States' Tumor Institute drove my passion and inspired me to follow my dreams of becoming an RN.
I joined SNA with a background and love for event planning and building community collaborations. I'm excited to help grow SNA, enhance community relations, participate in service events and bring opportunities to nursing students.

Rachel Headley: Student Mentor Program Chair
6th Semester

Hi! My name is Rachel Headley and I’m currently in my 6th semester in the program. I feel so grateful to be a part of the Student Nurses’ Association, and have always wanted to somehow contribute towards the nursing community at Boise State. This has been the motivation towards my desire to be a part of the mentorship program. My hopes are to allow students a greater sense of community, belonging, and unity while achieving their education. My future career ambitions include possibly working as a labor and delivery nurse or in the NICU. I’m also minoring in Spanish and have a passion for learning about other cultures. This has also sparked an interest in being a part of a global health organization where I could work in impoverished countries. If you see me on campus, please say hi! I would love to get to know you all!
Kelsey Mahoney: Student Mentor Liaison
5th Semester

I joined SNA my 4th semester, looking to get everything out of my student nursing experience at BSU as I possibly could! I love being a part of a team that works together so well, and truly has the student's best interest in mind. We work hard to make students aware of opportunities, and as a member, I get the privilege of helping to spread that awareness to the community.
When I am not in class or at SNA events, I enjoy throwing stones, hammers, and tree posts around town! I compete in the Highland (Scottish) Games. My fiance and I travel the world to do so, and love the enthusiasm and competition the sport brings out of us!
I plan to earn my Bachelors of Nursing here at BSU, and eventually moving on to complete my Masters. As of now, I am uncertain the specialty I would like to work in, so I will most likely pursue a general NP degree. From there, I am excited to see where the journey takes me. =)

7th Semester

Hello! I'm Marah Johnson, and I'm in the seventh semester of the nursing program. I have a previous degree in Health Care Biology from CSI, but I knew that I wanted to do something where I could have a positive impact on a person's life. I joined SNA because I wanted to meet other nursing students and get more involved at Boise State. After I graduate, I am planning on working in an Intensive Care Unit and eventually becoming a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). When I'm not studying, I enjoy snowboarding and snowmobiling, hiking, reading, spending time with my family and my cat, and attending Idaho Steelheads hockey games!
